What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is a personalized, systems-oriented model that empowers patients and practitioners to achieve the highest expression of health by working in collaboration to address the underlying causes of disease. Functional Medicine practitioners look for the root causes of chronic medical conditions and may address these causes by recommending a plan such as dietary changes, exercise, or relaxation. I have been studying the basic principles of Functional Medicine, including listening to your story and developing a plan for initiating diet and lifestyle changes. As your FxHealth Coach, I will support you as you make these changes and answer questions you may have about the Functional Medicine way of interpreting the underlying causes of illness.

What is Functional Medicine Health Coaching?

Functional Medicine Health Coaching integrates the art of coaching with principles of functional medicine, nutrition, the psychology of eating, mind-body medicine and positive psychology.  This form of health coaching is used to help you identify underlying illness and build health so you can live the best life possible.  In addition, it is also very collaborative with your functional medicine or primary care providers to create a collaborative, team-based approach to designing the best health plan for you.

What is Functional Nutrition?

Just as Functional Medicine approaches the body from the perspective of treating the root cause of disease, Functional Nutrition looks at the foundational way that food affects your body on the cellular level. Eating healthy is essential for both preventing illness and for recovering from disease and building optimal health. Functional Nutrition leverages personalized coaching and treatment modalities that specifically address your underlying causes of illness to help you recover and build health.


Proven methods and techniques that use the latest lab testing, technology and research to constantly improve the scope of patient care.


Engages with you as the patient authentically and collaboratively through two-way communication and proactive health planning.


Leverages a personalized toolkit such as behavior and lifestyle change, stress reduction, detoxification, fitness, and nutraceuticals.
